Seasonal Changes - Fall Wrap Up

Where did the year go? By all means, someone please tell me how it blew by so fast. I feel like it was just yesterday I was poling a skiff mid summer, then it was Albie season and now we’re switching gears again focusing on our winter redfish. No complaints here by any means, so lets see how Albie season went.

I won’t call this recent Albie season weird, but I will say it was a roller coaster. There were amazing days and there were days where Plan B, C and D didn’t work but Plan E was magical. You have to make the most out of every day and conditions change so you’re mindset and plans have to adapt.

There were days of having to set the rod down and relax from reeling in enough Albies to days where the bluefish ruled the roost. Not just your standard two pound bluefish, I’m talking some honkers that eat holes through your net. Then there were the days were the bull drum were happy and willing to play and even days where we made the run for amberjack and the surprise cobia. Everyday was a treat and the anglers this season were up for any sort of fun that could be had.

Lets take a peak at some highlights from this season shall we….

I really enjoyed the fall fishing and can’t thank all of my anglers who came to fish with me. While the focus is shifting towards winter redfish, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to Albies again already.
